At d’Aussy Interiors, we believe a home should feel deeply connected to its surroundings and to the people who live in it.

Based on the Costa Brava, we specialise in the complete renovation of second homes, offering interior architecture, project management and bespoke design for national & international homeowners looking to create timeless Mediterranean homes.

From the first property visit to the final styling, we coordinate every stage of the renovation process, working alongside trusted local architects, craftsmen and suppliers to deliver carefully executed projects with clarity and attention to detail.

The story of our story

d’Aussy Interiors was founded by Clara Joly d’Aussy and Dominique Joly d’Aussy (father & daughter), but its story began long before the studio itself.

I grew up in a family where design was simply part of everyday life. My mother worked as a stylist and interior decorator for international leading lifestyle magazines, while my father was an architect and landscape designer. Every summer, we returned to our family farmhouse in the Alt Empordà, a home that evolved through years of thoughtful renovation. Watching that transformation taught me that great homes are created patiently, with respect for their history and surroundings.

My father showed me how things were made. Together we built furniture, lamps and small structures, while he carefully shaped a living mediterranean landscape around us. From my mother, I learned the importance of atmosphere, composition and the objects that make a house feel like home. Looking back, I realise my education began there, long before university. It has continued through every project, every journey and every home I have renovated since.

Living in Australia became another defining chapter. It strengthened my belief in environmentally conscious architecture, honest materials and a way of designing that works with nature rather than against it. Those values remain at the heart of every project we undertake.

My family’s connection to the Empordà extends back generations. My grandfather, a forest engineer, contributed to shaping parts of this remarkable landscape in Sant Martí d’Empuries, leaving us with a deep respect for the territory. That heritage is one of the reasons we chose to establish ourselves  on the Costa Brava.

Today, every renovation we design reflects these influences: Mediterranean roots, international experience and a commitment to creating timeless homes that feel authentic, calm and deeply connected to their surroundings.
